A recently conducted survey by Harris Interactive showed
that about 80% American Adults over the age 25 years are Overweight
and about one third of Adult population is Obese. ![]()
Twelve years ago a Harris Poll reported that "Americans
are the FATTEST People on
earth and getting fatter every year." Unfortunately,
this still holds true. A new Harris Poll finds that more U.S. adults

Being “Overweight” and the term “Obesity” generally means a person’s overall body weight. Overweight is having extra body weight from muscle, bone, fat, and/or water. Obesity is having a high amount of extra body fat.

It is a matter of fact that millions of Americans and people around the world are overweight or obese. Its not normal situation, being overweight or obese puts a person at risk makes him/her prone to numerous diseases and conditions. People having more body fat that they carry around and the more they weigh, they are more likely to develop Heart Disease, type 2 Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Gallstones, Breathing Problems, and certain Cancers. Being overweight is an unhealthy condition and is a result of many factors which include environment, family history and genetics, metabolism, behavior or habits, Life styles, inactivity and other factors.
Many of these factors can be changed and get control over them like
a person’s living style, habits etc. but certain things, like
family history, can’t be changed.
Overweight and obesity problem only could be copped properly if you
are ready to:
*>Have a Healthful diet routine and keep daily calorie
needs in mind.
*>Become Physically Active.
*>Try to reduce the ammount of time that you remain inactive.
If changing lifestyle doesnt work for someone willing to reduce weight then Weight loss medicines and surgery also are useful options for them.
